Sawako Nohara was born in 1958 in Mie prefecture in Japan. She
studied chemistry at Nagoya University, then joined Mitsubishi Chemical
Corporation in 1980. After earning a master's degree from Ochanomizu
University, she joined the Living Science Institute where she researched
consumer marketing, and pursued an interest in new technologies
and their effects on lifestyles and consumption.
In 1995, she moved to InfoCom Research, Inc., an NTT Group think
tank, where she specialized in marketing strategies for e-commerce
as researcher and consultant. As head of the E-Commerce Business
Development Group, she managed the projects of the Electronic Commerce
Network, a consortium of some 150 firms, and organized MIN (for
Marketing Interactive Network), the company's Internet marketing
website.
In 2000, she established IPSe Marketing, Inc. as her own consulting
firm. Nohara's extensive experience has confirmed the value of customer-centric
marketing--keeping the focus firmly on users to develop and promote
successful products and services. |
